Godly Tribe recording artist GHOST GOD is a rising star born to a 14 year old mother, the Las Vegas native spent most of his early childhood bouncing between foster homes. At the age of 5, GHOST GOD mother packed up her four children and headed across state-lines for a few year stint in the City of Angels with her deejay boyfriend. It was in Los Angeles when his interest in music first peeked.
Similar to the stories of Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and the Notorious B.I.G, GHOST GOD was forced to fend for himself at an early age and began hustling to survive. However, what makes GHOST GOD story unique is his ability to discern there was more to life than selling drugs at a very young age.
However, he continued to pursue his academics while maintaining survival on the tough streets of Vegas. He eventually graduated from high school with honors and earned himself a
walk--on basketball scholarship to Bellevue College in Bellevue, Washington. Things quickly took a turn for the worse when he hyper extended his toe during a spring break trip home causing him to lose his coveted scholarship. Mad at the world, GHOST GOD packed his bags and returned to Vegas.
Still determined to make something of himself, the 19--year--pursued a career in music by forming the rap group “4Much.”
In 2005 the duo released their first mix tape “Menace 2 Society,” and began performing at venues throughout Vegas. After creative differences caused the pair to split, Ghost God began to build a buzz for himself as a solo artist in the Vegas market eventually catching the eye of some execs at Sony Music. Although a deal never came to pass, it proved Ghost God definitely has what it takes to make it in the industry. Using money he saved from his multiple business ventures, including a flourishing fruit and vegetable trucking business, Ghost God t began independently releasing his music.
In 2012, Ghost God began making major waves in the industry starting with the release of his mix tape “Casino,” hosted by the renowned DJ Drama. The tape featured the popular tracks “Fades” and “Top of the World” which garnered over 200K YouTube views combined. Closing out the year on a high note, he opened for GQ Magazine’s 2013 rapper of the year and Grammy-- nominated hip--hop artist, Kendrick Lamar. Driven to share his story, Ghost God is continuously developing his craft and raising his industry profile. will continue to grow.
